SURGE, born in Los Angeles and raised in Miami, Urban Pop artist, Surge, has taken his bold, unmistakable style straight from his sketchbooks to the sun-stained streets of South Florida and beyond.
Surge’s love for cartoons and brilliant colors, along with a passion for hip hop culture, has shaped his artistic identity and resulted in work that can now been seen everywhere from walls in Miami’s legendary Wynwood Arts District to live painting performances during some of the area’s most high-profile charitable events. His vibrant illustrations feature anthropomorphized characters that are both brash and inviting.
Surge has served as a recurring cartoonist for the Miami New Times and his artwork has been featured on the cover of Sun-Sentinel’s City Link Magazine, as well as a variety of publications on a global basis.
It is the ability to be daring and free with his art that is ultimately closest to Surge’s heart. His work has toured the world as part of the “Sneaker Pimps Show,” has been a part of the “Sleepless Nights” art series and has also been displayed in various South Florida galleries during Art Basel.
Utilizing his love for art and design to build a sustainable business is the challenge of a lifetime that Surge is enjoying like no other as he navigates through a client list that includes professional sports stars and teams, trendy Miami restaurants, lifestyle magazines and even the mom & pop shops that simply need a logo.
Seth’s background is as diverse as the Thunderous Genius client base. For the past 12 years, he has served as the Executive Director of the Jason Taylor Foundation, having helped the football legend establish the 501 (c)(3) organization in 2004. Working side-by-side Taylor, Seth has been responsible for the conceptualization, development, execution and branding of nearly every Foundation program and event.
Prior to joining the Jason Taylor Foundation, Seth spent eight seasons with the Miami Dolphins as a member of the team’s Media Relations Department, a staff that was the recipient of the 1999 Pete Rozelle Award, an annual honor awarded by the Professional Football Writers of America to the NFL’s best public relations department. During this time, he not only served as a liaison between media and players, coaches and front office personnel, but also specialized in off-field projects, including assisting in the development of the NFL’s first swimsuit calendar featuring cheerleaders AND active players, as well as having curated the photographic history of Dolphins players in the Pro Bowl.
The proud father of Reanne, Braddock and Toli, Seth and his wife, Mary Anne, strive daily to put family first and live a Thunderous lifestyle.
